LLC RECOMMENDED SPARKPLUGS
Gap spark plugs fired by Light Speed Engineering's
PLASMA CDI systems to .032"-.045" for
standard compression engines (7 - 8.5:1) and .026"-.034" for high compression
engines (8.7 - 10:1). Turbo and Supercharged
engines should run a spark plug gap of .026"
- .034". Install the spark plugs and inserts
using 15 and 25 lb/ft respectively, using
anti-seize.

Performance Plugs
HP Spark Plugs
These
plugs have small iridium & platinum electrodes
for best performance and long life.
HP spark plugs are available in 24, 27, and 31
heat ranges and are $39 each.
They fit Light Speed Engineering's standard
adaptors that have a 1/2" external thread,
(18mm x 1/2").
 HP-LR Spark
Plugs and Adaptors
These are the same 14mm thread, small iridium
& platinum electrode spark plugs as the HP
plugs described above but they are specifically for
cylinders with "long reach"
threads.
A high performance option for
Continental IO-550, IO-470, IO-520 and Lycoming
IO-580.
HP-LR spark plugs are available in 24, 27, and 31
heat ranges and are $39 each.
They require the new HP-LR adaptors that have an
18mm x 13/16" external thread and a 14mm
internal thread. HP-LR adaptors, PN: 7.252, are $24
each.
Standard Issue
 Light
Speed Engineering's standard issue spark plugs are
pictured to the left. Single ground
electrode with a short body make these a durable
option for most applications.
W24EMR-C:
Used on low and standard compression
engines. $8.90 each.
W27EMR-C:
Used on standard and high compression
engines. $8.90 each.
The standard
reach (1/2") spark plug adaptor is also
pictured here. This adaptor is used when
converting aircraft engines using 1/2" reach
aircraft spark plugs to 14mm plugs. Light
Speed Engineering's spark plug adaptors are made
of high strength aluminum bronze.

adaptors are included with ignition kit purchase
for those with 1/2" reach.

(Left) W27EBR: Triple ground electrode for long plug

(Right) IK24 -34: Iridium racing
sparkplugs. The
smallest electrode available for best spark
exposure and hottest spark. (Same electrode
size as the new HP plugs.) $15-21 each.
 Long Reach Plugs
X27GPR-U:
Single ground electrode sparkplug for aircraft
cylinders using 3/4" reach spark plugs. Standard
issue for Continental IO-550, IO-470, IO-520 and
Lycoming IO-580.
